Beware of inaccurate spring rates

I want to start off by saying that these coilovers are built with great quality materials and look like they will truly last a long time. I was only looking to drop my car by about an inch and was not too concerned about how sporty the car was I actually wanted to keep it really close to the OEM ride. So seeing as the default rates for the car were 14k Front and 8K rear I decided to go a little lower to give me a more forgiving and smoother ride. Also seeing as most other coilover companies default rates for this car were 10K front and 6K rear this was the spring rate I chose.

So installed the coilovers and got the height I wanted and everything went smoothly. Everything fit together beautifully and all the adjustments were smooth and easy to control.

However when taking the car for a test drive I noticed that I actually bottomed out on my front left on a fairly small bump. Now I understand that I requested a much softer spring rate but to get this problem on only the front left got me concerned. I ended up having to adjust the damping on the front left by 4 clicks higher than the right side to get the stiffness close to each other.

Now the ride feels great and is quite smooth but my front left is still having some moments of bottoming out on bumps that should not be causing this. So I went back to look at the springs under compression and it looks like the front springs are actually compressing like they are and 8k spring and not a 10k spring. I feel like if the spring rate was accurate and had a longer spring that I would have plenty of stroke to relieve this problem. I am also trying to see if I can get the whole front left replaced as the damping is nowhere near the right side.

If it were not for these problems these would be a 5 star product. So if you are in the market for coilovers keep their default springs or higher do not go lower as they are much softer than the actual rate.
